- Apparently I need Remedial Walking classes. In addition to falling down the stairs at home a couple of weeks ago and injuring my right foot, today I fell down the stairs of the parking lot shuttle bus and hurt my left leg! So I am now forced to just go around in a bit of pain, because I don’t have any undamaged legs remaining. It’s not very bad, and I’m sure it will be better in the morning, but damn it’s embarrassing to have forgotten how to use stairs…
- Today I bought my first jar of peanut butter in a long time. This may sound strange to those of you who know my passion for all things peanut butter, but every time I went grocery shopping I’d see the calorie/fat content of the peanut butter and put it back on the shelf. I’ve been using :MK:’s lately, and it’s not fair to keep taking her peanut butter (and bread and jelly) so I bought my own. Reduced Fat Skippy Superchunk. Mmmmmm. I also bought a pint of Chubby Hubby, which is my favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavor, and I managed to eat just one serving, which is appropriate!
- I wore my new corset to work today, under my clothes. This is something I actually would like to do on a semi-sort-of-regular basis, and it was pretty comfortable for most of the day. Unfortunately it started hurting along the sides in the last few hours of the day, and when I took it off my skin was lightly chafed - I guess my liner isn’t very good or something.
- I still love Faerie Bubbles and the Mechanical Turk but I have also been having fun converting my blog templates directory into a tagged collection and playing Retro and Passport.
- My holiday season is probably going to be pretty boring at work, because my primary client has 110 hours of use-or-lose leave that has to be used up by January 6th and he’ll be taking days off here and there and leaving early on other days. I have other clients, so I’ll still be in the same place, but he’s the one who keeps me the busiest.
- CSI was good tonight - finally something for Paul Guilfoyle to sink his teeth into! Now how about an episode focused on the doctor?
Random Crapola
- I am mildly disappointed that I did not make it onto the Babes of Xmas list, but I came in #106 out of 277, which is not bad. Thank you to the 39 people who voted for me a total of 90 times!
- I found this collection of antique photos of Baltimore, including this cool one of the Power Plant pre-corporate influence. Another cool one, of the B&O Building is here - kind of eerie!
- I really, really should not interpret important meetings before having some form of caffeine. This is especially true if said meeting involves a lot of voicing. Because that meeting, um, sucked.
- I’m still obsessed with Faerie Bubbles.
Just Random Stuff
Could somebody please explain to me how the Republic of Ireland is connected to both France and Benelux by train and not boat? WTF?
Tip: do not watch The Sixth Sense for the first time ever late at night and then have to go into the basement to do laundry.
In other news, I am totally obsessed with Faerie Bubbles.
Oh, I updated the design on my site. I finally gave up trying to find Illogirly and making my own fall layout, so I found a very nice one from Quixotic Pixels. I love that she included a blank header graphic! It was pretty easy to tweak for WordPress, although I had to do a bit of funky stuff with the comments section because the provided layout didn’t have comments. So if you’re reading on LiveJournal or have chosen a different skin (i.e., you’re not using the “default”), go check it out. Yes, it is a very dark design, but I like it!

Painted Pets
I hope you’ll all indulge me in a bit of Neopets-related showing-off. I’ve been participating in the NAE Outreach Program for a while now, adopting pets from the pound and improving their stats and color before sending them back for a new owner. I was quite pleased to end up with a Darigan Kougra recently; Darigan is an extremely popular and much-sought-after “color” and the Kougra is quite attractive. I was tempted to keep the Kougra, but I really only want to have one pet that is mine to keep - I don’t want a separate battle pet, books pet, etc. - and my Plushie Aisha is that pet. So I figured I would work on improving the Kougra’s stats before sending him back, which means restricting him from the lab ray so his color won’t change. I adopted another pet to use at the lab ray meanwhile, a JubJub. To my great surprise he turned Mutant today! I don’t particularly like Mutant pets myself - except possibly the Mutant Kacheek - so I’m not interested in keeping it, but I am impressed with my current stable of pets, as seen here:

Neopets Love
I just want to mention that the people in my guild on Neopets are fucking awesome. I’ve been getting online every few hours to check e-mail, and the last time I did I posted a message in the guild’s message board griping about how sick I am. The next time I checked in, I had received a slew of gifts!

- innerdarkness sent me neopkins and a get well soon card

See, I told you I have awesome guildmates! I still feel like shit, but they brought a smile to my face. I also talked on the phone with my mom and Ken, which was very nice except that my voice is all wacky.
I still don’t know if I’m going to work tomorrow or not. If I get a decent night’s sleep, I might wake up fine…or I might not. I’ve been running a fever of about 100.5 all day and I feel terrible! We’ll see how things are in the morning, but if I feel the same then as I do now, I am definitely not going in. If it were just my voice that was gone, I could still get away with just signing and letting my co-terp do all the voicing. The aches and pains throughout my body include my fingers, though, so I don’t think I could sign either.
