I’ve been posting some online coupon links in my quicklinks lately, and I have another one - but I wanted to give this one a little more attention. There are a whole bunch of coupon codes at CouponChief, and they also have things like contests from stores and other discounts. Each section lists coupons chronologically first - well, behind the featured ones - and then there’s a listing of stores they have coupons for in that category. For example, the computer coupons section has big names like Dell and RealNetworks, and some more specialized coupons like genealogy websites and printer ink sites. I was amused to find there were sections like eHarmony coupons - surely you can’t put a price on love!

Facebook has gone global! I haven’t been able to check it out before, because I didn’t have an alumni e-mail address and my company didn’t have a network. But now I’ve registered in the Washington DC network. Let me know if you’re on there!

Looking for friends from high school or college?

I made the mistake of signing up for a 7-day free trial at Classmates.com and forgetting to cancel it. So I’m in for a year, to the tune of $39. Please let me know if you want me to look anyone up and contact them; I’ll need your e-mail address so they can get back in touch with you. (And I’ll be manually munging your address, so feel free to give it to me already munged; Classmates.com strips un-munged e-mail addresses from messages.)

This morning we say “welcome” to Rant Cafe, which is written by a 32-year-old woman in Queensland, Australia. Unfortunately I don’t know her name, only her profile alias of “vavavoom” and that she likes X-Men. (I caught the first half of X-Men 2 on TV last night before falling asleep, fortunately the first half is the good half.) Anyway, Rant Cafe was one of three bidders, and the easy winner. She’s only been blogging for about a month, but she’s got a snazzy design and an easygoing writing style. I especially like her header graphic!

I have been remiss in my landlord duties! A hearty welcome to The New ME.. Still A Bisexual by Ea. It’s kind of funny that she rented from me, because I rented from her a week or two ago. So how could I not rent back to her? By the way, she’s the first person I’ve ever seen use an animated favicon, so when you go visit her site keep your eye on the location bar of your browser! And you definitely want to go visit her site, because she is a total hottie and there are pictures. :D

Those of you who actually visit my website (as opposed to reading me via RSS or LiveJournal) may have noticed the “Rent My Blog” box at the top of the page. It’s a program from Blog Explosion, the blog traffic exchange site. So I’ve been renting the space for a few weeks now, and I haven’t been mentioning the people I’ve chosen. (Apologies to Haunted House Dressing, Dorene Lorenz, But I Digress, and Am I Famous Now.)

My new tenant is Pupsickle - named for the icicles that form on the fur of author Erin’s dog. Why are there icicles on Erin’s dog? She has lived in Fairbanks, Alaska her whole life, and it gets cold there. Erin is 25, like me, and she’s into environmental science. I really enjoyed reading her entries and I’m pleased to welcome her as a tenant! Plus, she has a really cute dog named Bob:

I found an interesting sex toy site recently. It’s called Discreet Romance and it has some interesting sex toys I haven’t seen before. In addition to the midget love doll and a rather enormous jelly dildo, they have a pretty big selection of glass and pyrex dildos, reasonably inexpensive restraints, and a well-priced Hitachi Magic Wand. They have the Feeldoe in slim and regular (presumably the stout is on the way), and a good set of silicone dildos (which, as I’ve said before, is really the best material for a dildo), including several from Tantus. They have a bunch of other products too, including DVDs, massage oils, and clitoral jewelry.

I finally rediscovered the link for how to get a free BME t-shirt: you review experiences submitted by website users. They’re not looking for heavy copyediting or anything like that, just verification that the submissions are actually about body modification, that they are not written entirely in netspeak, and so forth. And once you have reviewed 500 experiences - the first level at which you earn anything - you get this t-shirt. Needless to say I am reviewing experiences as fast as I can, which unfortunately is limited by how fast they come in!

My Quilting Bee Quilt

I know I’ve mentioned The Quilting Bee here before, but I wanted to talk about it again. I first heard about it from Cricket, and I watched her work on her quilt for a long time before signing up myself. After I submitted my application I waited with bated breath for a few weeks - it turned out my initial application had gotten lost! When I was finally accepted, I was so excited. Since then, the QBee has become one of my favorite online activities. Since then I’ve learned a lot about pixel graphic design - it’s not easy for me, mostly because I’m simply not creative enough! But I have made several friends through the bee (Greetings especially to Heather, Manon, and Keskat!) and I love being part of a fun club. It amazes me that there are several hundred members of the bee…I have only met a small portion of the member list! So far the only person who has joined because of me is Ellie, but I’d like to encourage others to check out The Quilting Bee too…it’s a lot of fun! There are seasonal activities, contests, and games…in addition to the year-round fun of making new friends! (And yes, guys can join too, it’s not all girls!)
