I have gone from being the person online the most in my household to the person being online the least. I managed to get through my subscribed Literotica threads (can’t check those at work!), and I’m scrambling to get through my LiveJournal friends list, but Bloglines is going to have to wait because other people need the phone line. When I have the chance, I want to look at Attitudes Boutique, which had an interesting ad in a recent issue of the City Paper. At least I can play Seaman and Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast Firesign loaned me!

Also, this kitten is my current desktop wallpaper. Isn’t she adorable?!

I’m not too sure what to do with my links directory. It’s currently only got blogging-related links in it, but I could do other things with it. I once tried setting up a blogging directory in my ODP bookmarks, but it was getting so large that I ended up transferring it to the Links 2.0 installation. I don’t really do anything with it, so I could just delete it - except for the Templates category, which is fairly robust. But I can’t even bring myself to look through that category anymore (I originally created it because I love blog templates) because I’m still trying to get my site code cleaned up and possibly pare down the number of skins available. I’m just not sure what to do with it all, so I’m mostly letting it sit.

The OMWF soundtrack review is going to have to wait - A is getting home earlier than I expected, and she probably won’t want to hear the whole CD - plus I want to pay attention to her and not writing! I’ve listened to it at least two or three more times now, and I still love it just as much as I have been since I got it. That was a really good purchase decision on my part!
Things to do:

  • Make an LJ icon with the sign for “hack” for crayon
  • Create a fanlisting for Octavia Butler’s Xenogenesis series
  • Install my ASL software on the laptop - things got screwed up and I may not have a whole day in front of the web with no work tomorrow, so I’ll be bringing my laptop so I can at least play games
  • Browse through fanlistings to find more to join - I’m such a joiner!
  • Makeup research so I can figure out how to look pretty for the holidays

There’s other stuff, but I either don’t remember what it is or can remember on my own that I need to do it (including having already written it on the to-do list I keep on the fridge).

Today I realized that this December is a very busy month for me. I’ve been going crazy with the semester ending at school, and with the written test - fortunately that’s over! I still have to do my second final exam, the one due Wednesday night. I think I’ve gotten most of my holiday shopping done, though I’m not at all sure I’ll manage to get cards out this year - if anything they will end up being Happy New Year cards. I have a lot of chores to do, too - some cleaning in the bedroom, putting out the trash, and cleaning the microwave; I also have to take the car to Jiffy Lube (it’s about 500 miles overdue!) and find a holiday present for my friend _R_ and his wife. I’ve been neglecting all my blogging friends, my Literotica boards, my work at ODP, nodingeverything I enjoy online. Hopefully I’ll get some time to visit those sites before Xmas, because I don’t know if I’ll have the opportunity while in NYC - I probably will, but I can’t be sure. (I do plan to update my journal every day in December, but I may not get to spend more time online than that requires.) I think after the beginning of the new year, though, I will be more back to normal.

Here’s what I have to do today. C is arriving tonight for a visit.

  1. Vacuum our bedroom and bathroom
  2. Vacuum the upstairs hall and hall bath
  3. Vacuum the upstairs stairs
  4. Shake out all the throw rugs and vacuum the one in front of the kitchen sink
  5. Vacuum the foyer
  6. Wash dirty dishes and start the dishwasher
  7. Put away clean dishes (those washed and from the dishwasher)
  8. Vacuum the kitchen
  9. Replace the vacuum bag if it’s stinky or full
  10. Put away things in my bags
  11. Clean my part of the room
  12. Change the bed linens

Once all that is done, I may go over to A’s parents’ house and use her dad’s computer to connect to There. I tried installing it on my computer but it doesn’t meet the requirements; A’s work laptop meets the requirements except that it has an ATI Radeon Mobility card. There likes ATI Radeon cards except the VE, 7000, and Mobility. Dammit!

We’re having a party this weekend (our sixth annual Memorial Day bash), and I have so much to do before then.

  • Call vocational rehab (left another message)
  • Call my urticaria specialist (left another message)
  • Clean out the car
  • Sew the picnic blanket
  • Put the recycling bins away properly
  • Clean up dried cat barf
  • Finish the laundry
  • Process my existing bookmarks
  • Add the handwritten links to my bookmarks
  • Try again to get in touch with the interpreter coordinator for Shore Leave
  • Return National Geographic books
  • Mail shot glasses to plagosa

More as I remember it. But first, since I’ve at least made a list of what I need to do, it’s time for a nap.

I seem to have found most of these links in a copy of Cat Fancy magazine. I wrote them down on a piece of paper, apparently because I meant to look at them someday.

Well, I certainly didn’t expect this! I was supposed to do a high school in the early morning and my elementary school in the late morning, but I ended up staying home altogether. I got up when I needed to, got out the door a few minutes late, and was waiting in a long line at a traffic light when I heard Bill Redlin mention school delays. To my surprise, my county was running two hours late - which meant my jobs were entirely cancelled. I turned around and came back home, where I have been sitting around for the past several hours. Supposedly there was ice on the roads in Maryland, but it seems fine here. I still have to do the well child visit at the pediatrician in Baltimore, but that’s not bad. I’m definitely disappointed I don’t get the money for the interpreting work, though…I’m getting two billable hours today instead of six.

I’ve got plenty of things to take care of today, many of them online.
