party out of bounds
It’s been a while since I’ve done the Monday Mission, but here’s the current edition. Supposedly I contributed question #5, though I don’t remember it - must have been a while ago!
1. Who are your favorite cartoon characters?
On TV, I like Dexter of Dexter’s Lab. I’ve never really been a fan of comic books, the only one I can claim to like is Cry for Dawn - but Dawn isn’t really a cartoon character, she’s more like artwork. From the Sunday paper, I like the cat and dog from Mutts.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since Mariann started Weekly Wrapups, but this week’s edition is #53! She hasn’t responded to my offer of weeklywrapup.net or anything like that, but since she accepted a new button from Babs maybe she’ll make one of mine available if I design it. Anyway, the questions:
1. When is your birthday?
I was born January 18, 1981, at 5:38am.

I couldn’t find a URL to ping for last week’s Reasons for Love, even though I had written up a post for it. Anyway, here are this week’s Reasons for Love - once again about my girlfriend.
I’m sure I can be forgiven for turning in the current Weekly Wrapup a bit late. The brevity of my answers, though, may be inexcusable!
1. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a marine biologist…until I found out that wasn’t the same thing as a dolphin trainer.

This is the first time I’ve participated in Kymberlie’s Reasons for Love prompts. I recently wrote up a list of 100 reasons I love my girlfriend, so I’ve got plenty of fodder for Reasons For Love entries!
What a well-timed Weekly Wrapup - thanks, Mariann!
1. What’s your favorite method of travel? Why?
I love just about all kinds of travel - each has its own merits. Traveling by plane is probably my favorite, though, because I only do it very rarely - that adds to the excitement factor. I travel by train fairly frequently.

Here’s Sara’s current question:
In most schools, especially middle and high school there are certain cliques. At least when I was in high school 20 years ago there were! (Jocks, Brains, Druggies, Band kids, A-Listers, Rednecks, Sluts, Virgins, Rockers, Punks, Rebels, Loners, Losers.) Where did you fit in? Did you fall into more than one group? Did you want to be in a different clique? Did you feel comfortable in your clique with people just like you, or did you want to break out and try to conform to another one? Did it really matter to you to fit in? What about now, have you changed from the clique you were in, or are you still the same way?
I suppose I would be considered a “brain” type. I was on the quiz bowl team throughout high school, and I was in the gifted-talented program (this on top of being two years younger than my classmates). In middle school I was probably a loner, and I desperately wanted to fit in. I was a geek to some extent too, but in high school I had managed to be a little more comfortable with my situation and I found friends that shared my interests. One group I despised in high school was the drama clique, primarily because they were so exclusive. It was nearly impossible to break into the drama clique, even if one had talent. (I saw several talented actors in my time with the Shakespeare Club, but none of them were also in the drama clique.) All the same, I wanted to join that group, because they had such high visibility - the whole school would go to see the plays. As for today, my crowd is mostly geeky.
Sara’s current question of the week asks:
What are you carrying around?
What are you carrying in your purse ladies? Yup, everything, from that lipstick you keep meaning to replace to how many pictures you have of your kids or family in your wallet. Keys, nail file? All credit cards, ID cards, and the bills and change too.
Guys, you aren’t off the hook. We know you shove tons of change in your pocket and play with it to annoy us! Tell us what you have in your wallet, how many keys are on your key chain? How much change do you have in that pocket? What else do you carry? Cell phone? Yup, everything please.
What I’m carrying varies according to what my schedule is that day. Today I worked at the mall and had recently cleaned out my pockets, so all I had was my license, my credit card, some cash, yesterday’s ticket stubs, and my cell phone. The bag I bring when I interpret usually has a magazine, a book, a ball of yarn and a crochet hook, and my little purse (which has a whole bunch of mostly-expired coupons, some random paper junk, a ton of change, and some cash, along with my health insurance card, my RID membership card, and an off-brand Chapstick). In the winter, my keys usually go in my coat pocket; in warmer weather they go in my bag or purse (if I’m carrying one) or the pocket of my jeans.
I had a bit of a nap, but I still feel terrible. Here’s today’s Monday Mission, wich I’m proud of myself for finding given that there was no warning in my e-mail like there usually is.
1. Do you have any plans for “Spring Break” this year?
Because I both work in public schools and attend a local university, I will get two spring breaks this year. Unfortunately, they won’t coincide. I am going to Grenada this April, but that doesn’t coincide with either of my spring breaks anyway.

Finally! The weather is starting to get warmer. It was 65 degrees the other day! Mariann’s made this week’s Weeky Wrapup on the subject of spring.
1. What do you like best about Spring? What do you like least?
I can’t stand cold weather, so I’m glad for the warmer temperatures. I also like not having to drag a coat and winter gear (hat, gloves, etc.) around all the time. I can’t think of anything bad about spring, except that it’s not summer - I like it hot!
