Monday Mission

Jun 23, 2003 Author: Meredith | Filed under: writing prompts

I seem to be doing a lot of memes this week. Here’s the current Monday Mission:

1.What is the difference between spirituality and religion?
Four letters. Seriously, that’s about all it is to me. I have so little interest in spirituality and religion that I don’t care about a greater difference.

Weekly Wrapup

Jun 21, 2003 Author: Meredith | Filed under: writing prompts

Mariann’s gone self-referential with the current Weekly Wrapup.

1. Do you offer comments and/or trackback on your blog? Why or why not? Under what circumstances might you pull one or both of these feedback features?
Yes, I offer both comments and feedback; I love to read what other people think about what I’ve written. I especially like the affirmations that come when I’ve written something really good. I don’t think anything would make me close off these feedback options.

Weekly Wrapup

Here’s Mariann’s current Weekly Wrapup:

1. Do you like to have your picture taken? Why or why not?
I like having my picture taken if I’m feeling good about my appearance. This includes wearing a little bit of makeup, wearing nice clothes, and being comfortable with myself. Actually, I guess I don’t mind having my picture taken, it’s just I usually expect it will turn out bad if I’m not feeling pretty.

Weekly Wrapup

May 31, 2003 Author: Meredith | Filed under: writing prompts

The weather we’ve had in 2003 to date has been terrible. Snow, more snow, blizzard, snow, rain, thunderstorms, rain…it’s almost June and it’s barely been 70 degrees! Mariann’s current Weekly Wrapup is about summer, but it feels like wishful thinking.

1. Do you like summer? Why or why not?
This was the question I was waiting for back in the winter. I absolutely adore summer, because I like to be warm; the humidity we usually have in this region doesn’t bother me too much. I prefer to step out of the house as free as possible, without a winter coat and all that cold-weather gear weighing me down.

Monday Mission

May 19, 2003 Author: Meredith | Filed under: writing prompts

Wow, I have answers for the Monday Mission this week!

1. Is there a movie you would like to see Hollywood make a sequel to?
One of my favorite movies of all time is the the 1993 HBO movie And the Band Played On, a star-studded film about the early years of the AIDS crisis. It would be nice to see an update, presented in the same humane way that movie was made.

Friday Five

May 16, 2003 Author: Meredith | Filed under: writing prompts

It’s just a writing prompt kind of day, I guess. Here’s the Friday Five.

1. What drinking water do you prefer — tap, bottle, purifier, etc.?
I prefer Fruit2O, actually. I don’t like plain water in general.

This-or-That

May 16, 2003 Author: Meredith | Filed under: writing prompts

I don’t think I’ve ever done the This or That prompt before. It was posted on Tuesday so I’m a bit late with it, but here it is.

1. Packrat or minimalist? Packrat, but I’m trying to be better.
2. Computer: desktop or laptop? Laptop all the way. It’s so much easier for me to use, and better suited to my lifestyle - sometimes I take it to work or to another person’s house, or I’ll move throughout the house with it.
3. Seashore or mountains? I guess seashore, because it’s usually warmer.
4. Carpeting or bare floors? Bare floors. It’s easier to clean up after the cats.
5. Drinking water: bottled or tap? Water? Yuck. It doesn’t really matter to me either way, I don’t like water.
6. Shopping websites: eBay or Amazon? eBay for unusual stuff or bargains, but Amazon for most other things.
7. Cute little kitties or big scary tigers? Kitties, of course.
8. Front door or back door? Whoa. What are you asking with that one? Uh, front door.
9. Lots of jewelry, or little/none? Little to none. Stud earrings and a maybe a pendant at the most. Sometimes a ring.
10. Thought-provoking question of the week: At the last minute, you obtain tickets to an event you’re dying to attend. However, you have to work that day! Do you ask the boss for the time off, or just call in sick? I have the luxury of being able to choose days off with my job. If I’m already scheduled for that day, I’ll go to work, but otherwise I’ll let them know I’m not available.
