I don’t even know how to pack for a year in a country where I can’t easily shop for clothes. I’ll be bringing half my wardrobe. And what else do you bring? Toiletries…but do you need them? I can buy them there, right? How do you move for a year?

Asked my wife last night what she would want to see if she visited me in Japan. Her response: “Japan…and you!” I did get her to specify a little though, she wants to see Kyoto and “the old stuff.” I will probably drag her to Akihabara Electric Town anyway though!

Just noticed something I haven’t seen on Sakura House profiles before…Kameari 2 apartment #403 says “You can see Mt. Fuji from this room!” And it’s only 77,000 a month! No furo though…shower only. Following Nomadic Matt’s instructions, I discovered that the cheapest one-way flight from Washington to Tokyo in March 2012 is on Aeroflot, with a 9-hour layover in Moscow.
