Kameari
Just noticed something I haven’t seen on Sakura House profiles before…Kameari 2 apartment #403 says “You can see Mt. Fuji from this room!” And it’s only 77,000 a month! No furo though…shower only. I do love the furo, it’s very different from our American baths, which are not really for soaking. It’s a little hard [...]
I picked this up at the cat show last weekend. It’s a print of a painting by Cassie Graus, who goes by “KittyCassandra” on Facebook. She had a ton of adorable designs but I chose this one with the express purpose of putting it up in my apartment in Tokyo. If I don’t get the [...]
Flying
Following Nomadic Matt’s instructions, I discovered that the cheapest one-way flight from Washington to Tokyo in March 2012 is on Aeroflot, with a 9-hour layover in Moscow. It’s only $806 but who wants to travel for two days?! I’d rather pay a little more and take the direct flight on ANA for $1022. The Ultimate [...]

Amazon
Just created an Amazon.co.jp wishlist…I think I will put things on it that I will want to have if I end up living in Japan!
Refrain
I am refraining from buying tickets for next year’s new Cirque de Soleil show, “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour,” until I know whether I’m going to Japan or not. This is my first “wait and see” for something that I would otherwise be doing.
Mini-Cat
I have found the solution to living in Japan in an apartment the size of a postage stamp and not having any cats of my own! I just need three of these, and I’ll inflate them as needed! Amazon.com: Cat-in-a-Can – Inflatable: Toys & Games
Cards
I think the Capital One Venture Card might be a better option than the United Mileage Plus Club Visa. It also has no foreign transaction fees, also earns miles, and doesn’t have a $375 annual fee.
