We all know that movies get different names in countries other than the one where they were produced. Usually it’s a direct translation from their English title, but not always. What gets really interesting, though, is when you translate the foreign titles in Google.
The 1989 movie “Heathers” was called Escuela de jóvenes asesinos in Argentina and Spain. In English, that’s “School of young murderers” – but Google Translate says it’s Heathers murderers. O RLY? Let’s try the Italian title, Schegge di follia. Literally, that’s “Splinters of madness” – but again, Google Translate gives us: Heathers.
Might be interesting to try this with other movies.
