The New York Times has a cute little about The Big Bang Theory, the show about geeks. There are some people quoted in the article who don’t like the show because it’s heavily stereotyped, and we should move beyond that. My response is: of course it’s heavily stereotyped. It’s a 30-minute prime-time sitcom. It needs stereotypes because we don’t have time each week to get heavily into the characters. I don’t expect the show to include the full range of nerds out there, I just appreciate having something on television that’s aimed at ME! (Even if the actors don’t get the jokes – the article says they frequently have no idea what they’re talking about.)

Is this show on cable or is it local access only? Anyway, it sounds like an interesting concept for a show. I think I would watch it. Are you on YouTube?
