They opened up a new section of GSR 300, so I got into that – it’s with a professor I am not extremely fond of, but 300 is supposed to be a heavily self-directed class, so it might work out.
Now I have to choose which class to drop. I signed up for SWK 318, Human Diversity, to fill out my semester; this means it was my last choice, but I’m not sure that it is anymore. The alternative is SOC 295, Gender and Society. The major issue is that although I think SOC 295 would be really interesting, it is also the only class I would have that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays. Every single other class, including SWK 318, meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. So even though I prefer the sociology class, it would be a significant cost savings for me to only drive/metro into the city two days a week.
Even if I end up having to go in Mondays and Wednesdays for something else, it wouldn’t necessarily be every week so it would still save money. But that sociology class is just more interesting…I don’t know. I mean, they’d both be okay, but…hmm.
