Somebody left an old issue of InTouch magazine at work, so I was flipping through it. There’s a short piece on the Air France 447 tragedy, the plane that disappeared off the coast of Brazil in June. The Schnabl family of Sweden is highlighted, with the following story:
Swedish nationals Fernando and Christine Badre Schnabl, who were living in Brazil, were always afraid that if their entire family flew on the same plane, they’d all die together if it crashed. On their way to Sweden for vacation, Fernando and their daughter, Celine, 3, flew home on one plane, while Christine and son Phillipe, 5, boarded Flight 447. When Fernando arrived safely in Paris, he received the horrible news that his wife and son’s plane was missing.
This is tragic, of course, but I also find it curious. Wouldn’t you want to die with your loved ones? Further down on the page, Michael “Butch” Harris and his wife Anne are described by their niece, who says her only comfort “is that they died together.” That is how I see things. I hate traveling without my wife, because what if something happens? I’d much rather be together if life comes to an end. What do you think, readers?
D and I have often talked about various ending to our life and time together. I personally hope we can time out at the same time, and of course with as little pain and fear as possible. But yeah – I want to die together. Life without him would just be…unthinkable…
Everyone loves to die with someone.. I didn’t know there’s a belief like that in Brazil… That was tragic of course.. People in Brazil are amazing.. Why would they believe like that..
