Considering that this was my last day to do whatever I wanted, I didn’t do very much. I finished uploading my pictures which had failed to finish last night. I realized where the cache from yesterday must be, I figured out that it should be at Kuhio Beach Park! So I went over there because it was very close to the hotel, and I looked around but didn’t find anything. There were a lot of random people around, so I came back to work on homework. :A: came back a few minutes after I did, so we had lunch together.
After that, I did a bit of homework. It turned out I have a powerpoint presentation that’s suddenly due Sunday night. I finished that and sent it off, then decided to take a nap. I figured I should be enjoying myself outside, but the nap was calling to me strongly! When I woke up after a couple of hours, I went back out and walked around. I checked for the cache at Kuhio Beach Park again but didn’t find it. I walked up to the Hawaii Center for the Deaf and Blind, but the person in the front office told me (in very halting ASL) that school was over for the day and I should come back tomorrow morning at 8am.
I found a cache nearby and went off to find another one, but it turned out I was on the wrong side of the canal, so I gave up and went back to the hotel. After some emails, I finally learned the coordinates for the cache, and learned I had been right nearby! But by that time :A: was finishing up her work and I decided to wait for her. When she came back, she was too tired to get food, so I went out and got Chinese takeout for both of us. It turned out neither was very good, though.
Tomorrow we have to switch hotels because the conference is over. We’re moving from the Hyatt Regency to the Queen Kapiolani, which I walked past today and actually it looked pretty nice. We’ll check out of this hotel then go see some sights, then check into the other hotel.

Ah, Hawaii sounds so great! I really like reading what you write, it gives me images in my head of how things could`ve been; a few years ago I planned on going to school in Hawaii, just to have a good time and chill out. Some kind of extreme sports “school”. Didn`t go though, and I really regret it.. =|
