Vacation Plans

Posted by on December 8, 2008

I think I have vacations for the next three years worked out.

April 2009 – My wife is hoping to be picked for a team that’s attending a conference in Waikiki. I will have to miss school if I join her but I’ve managed before so I think it could work out. I’ll need $800 or so for the flight, plus spending and food money.

January 2010 – A very short cruise out of Miami. I had tried to set up a group thing but nobody wanted to go. I had booked myself because I was hoping to entice others, so I ended up with a Carnival reservation I have to use. Additional $150 deposit is due by Wednesday, and the remaining $405 balance is due in November 2009. Plus we have to fly to Miami, obviously.

January 2011 – This is so tentative it’s not even funny…but I want to bring a few friends to Disney World for my 30th birthday. Preliminary estimates are about $5000 including food and airfare.

Wow, three years of vacation plans mapped out. I really envy your vision and organizational skills! I hope you get to go to Disney for your 30th. I’m going next week (for the first time!) and I’m almost 47. Ouch. Oh well, better late than never, right? Hopefully it’s not too late for my nine year-old to enjoy it. Anyway, kudos to you for making vacation planning a priority in your life. I never plan getaways and now, all of a sudden, it’s been five years since I’ve had a vacation!
