PageRank Resolved

Posted by on November 30, 2008

Whew, I am never getting back into paid posts again. I used to have PR6 on my main site and it was very nice. But because of my affiliation with certain sites that pay for you to post things, I got a smackdown from Google and I went down to PR3. I’m now back to PR5 and I’m going to try to hold onto it. I’ve never done much to mess with my PageRank, but I’m pleased that it’s back up to PR5. I still have text ads on the sidebar because they occasionally bring in a nice $40-70 check (depending on how many advertisers I have there) plus the MusicMP3.ru ad gets me $40 in credit at that site per month…I can buy all the mp3′s I want, ha! Anyway, today was a homework-free day, and it felt pretty good. We went shopping and I got some awesome jeans, I finally discovered Lane Bryant’s color-coding of pants! They had “buy one, get one free” stuff, and I got a totally awesome $35 shirt that I absolutely love for free. It was a nice day even though it was cold and rainy.

Thanks. I’ve never really understood page rank although I have read a lot about it. Sometimes I tend to reverse numbers and you have enlightened me. The higher the number the better the page rank, right?
I hope you have a great Holiday season.

Wow that is quite a hit from Google. it is good that you are back up to PR5. I bet you could get back to 6 if you tried too. I will keep in mind not to do pay per post so I can keep my ranking high. Thanks!

Google hate affiliated other than heir own. Especially PPP is on the hit list and I have seen many bloggers are being hurt with that. Clearly we have 2 option, Google, and all others. So its up to us that what we want to do.

With the passage of time we learn a lot of things and it was one of those which i leaned after loosing my green bars. Now I am focusing on PPC campaigns rather than PPP campaigns. It is much better to have optimized sites for PPC campaigns.

I read many blog posts on PR daily and I have seen that people are not worried about it anymore but this is not a reality. I work at some SEO firm and we have many client who are crazy about it. Although I am not afraid of it anymore but I always check it daily due to my curiosity.

As a whole, we do care about our PR and I do the same as well. I am wondering what are views of other people regarding this because i have read too many false claims of not caring about it. Anyways, I think we have to care a lot of stuff about it. We shouldn’t have too many external links to save ourselves from Penalties.

Unfortunately Google is very strict with their PR system and you have to be careful about what you do on your page and to your page. If you follow their guidelines very specifically, they will reward you with high page rank. This is the goal with almost all websites right? Good to hear you got some of your PR back, keep following the rules and you will probably get back up to 6 again.

I hear pagerank is not that important but people obsess over it.

We have different ways to earn so we shouldn’t mix all of them with each other. If we are going to earn money via pay per post then we should have such domain. For other domains we shouldn’t use pay per post.

That is the same with me and I have to loose all my PR from 3 to 0. Although I left everything but I am still failed to raise it again. I think this is some kind of severe penalty which I suffered.
