Tickling the Ivories

Posted by on June 13, 2007

When I was a kid, I took piano lessons for a very short time. I ran into the problem that many kids experience: I hated to practice. I came across a free piano lessons email newsletter for adults on “Piano Chords & Chord Progressions” which runs for 101 weeks – two full years of educational e-mail newsletters! Duane Shinn, the creator of the newsletters, has also created video lessons that run for a full year to teach adults about playing the piano. I don’t have a piano or keyboard anymore to practice on, but if you do, you can check out a free sample of the chords newsletter.

Duane Shinn’s free piano lessons for adults are very popular. It’s amazing how many people take up the piano when they are adults. It’s never to late to learn. Also it’s a blast when you can learn songs for piano from your favourite artists and have you checked out this site which gives you ideas on how to do it…easy piano lessons

The piano lessons you are talking about are great. He has tons of info! Learning piano without a traditional teacher is becoming more and more common these days. With the internet and Youtube people can get on a website and learn tons just by doing a web search or watching a video.

It also gives learners different aspects. Each teacher is different so the learner can experience different styles from all the different teachers on the web.

Learning with a good teacher is still and always will be important to make good progress with learning music. But for a lot of adults they just want to play a song or two and enjoy themselves. This is a great option I think to bring music to more people.

Finding a private teacher is always the best way to learn how to play any instrument. But sometimes adults have it rough trying to find the time for that. Many adults only want to play a song here or there too. This is a great option for people who want to enjoy playing music but didn’t have any options open to them earlier in life.
