Not just who I voted for in the 2006 Bloggies, but why!

Best Web Application for Weblogs: del.icio.us
The daily auto-posting feature harks back to the days when weblog meant a collection of links about stuff out there on the web, rather than what goes on in the author’s head. A true weblog application.
Best Australian or New Zealand Weblog: Trivial Pursuit
She seems to come from a cool background, based on her about page.
Best Asian Weblog: Tokyo Girl
I almost voted for India Uncut just because it was the only South Asian blog in the running, but I went with Tokyo Girl because it would be nice to see a default-template, all-pink, Blogspot-hosted site actually win something.
Best African or Middle Eastern Weblog: Mahmood’s Den
The picture up top looks friendly, and he’s a vlogger - on YouTube no less!
Best European Weblog: La Coquette
Three shoe-related posts on the front page! And, hey, much love for Paris!
Best British or Irish Weblog: Girl with a One-Track Mind
She says: “Feel free to go click-happy on my button - I guarantee I’ll enjoy it being pressed.”
Best Latin American Weblog: Bestiaria
Because a blog shouldn’t have to be in English to win, and because it seems to be about women. Also, shoes again!
Best Canadian Weblog: Rick Mercer’s Blog
It’s by a real person. Also, I am not so much with the photoblogs.
Best American Weblog: PostSecret
One word: innovation. Plus, I refuse to vote for Dooce, who has enough damn publicity already.
Best Tagline of a Weblog: Whedonesque - “Joss the way we like it”
I am a sucker for wordplay.
Best Podcast of a Weblog: Girlspoke
I don’t listen to podcasts much. I clicked Girlspoke first because it was obviously by a female. Then the first (written) entry was about bikini waxing, so I didn’t bother clicking any of the others.
Best Photography of a Weblog: The Snowsuit Effort
Attractive script on the top. They didn’t win last year. Homeless people need more love. The sharp photography is nice.
Best Craft Weblog: MAKE: Blog
Crafts and technology together? This one’s going on the feed reader! Plus they have a location in Second Life, or something.
Best Food Weblog: Vegan Lunch Box
The obvious choice. But it will be ironic if they win the Godiva chocolates.
Best Entertainment Weblog: The Superficial
I like purple. (Also: refusing to vote for Gawker on principle - see Dooce, above.)
Best Weblog about Politics: Crooks and Liars
I never heard of it before, and the author seems to share my general political leaning. Plus the name Firedoglake was kind of weird.
Best Web Development Weblog: 456 Berea Street
Not as slick as some of the others in this category, but it is written by only one person, which is a lot of work. Also, not voting for Problogger because I don’t like the idea of pro blogging. Neener.
Best Computers or Technology Weblog: Popgadget
I read both Popgadget and Engadget (though I refuse to read Slashdot). Engadget seems to have all the latest Hello Kitty stuff, but I think Popgadget has more female writers. So, Popgadget it is.
Best Topical Weblog: Gothamist
Voting for a known name for a few reasons this time. First, I’m voting for Cute Overload for best new, because they have way too many nominations for such a new blog and that’s the only one I can rationalize voting for. (I think it only got so many nominations because, well, people love cute things. But for some reason my e-mails and tips always go unanswered.) But also, I like New York.
Best GLBT Weblog: Good As You
Seems to have a good attitude. I like this one. Also: Yep, I’m Spayed!
Best Teen Weblog: It’s raining noodles!
Stylish.
Most Humorous Weblog: Stuff on My Cat
KITTY!
Best Writing of a Weblog: Finslippy
Not Dooce, and not GFY. But chatty is good. Mimi in NY was a little pretentious, IMHO.
Best Group Weblog: WorldChanging
The obvious hippie liberal choice.
Best Community Weblog: Overheard in New York
I already voted for Post Secret, and I don’t really see that as a community blog because you send in actual paper stuff and it’s up to the guy if you get put on the site or not. Digg, Slashdot, and Fark all have plenty of publicity. So Overheard in New York it is!
Best-Designed Weblog: Delicious Days
It was close between this and Joshuaink; I went with Delicious Days because I like having the borders framing the content column all the way down the page.
Best-Kept-Secret Weblog: Ear Farm
I like giraffes.
Best New Weblog: Cute Overload
There it is! And: awwwww.
Lifetime Achievement: Pamela Ribon
This is the only category in which I could consider voting for Dooce. But I’m not. But I like voting for females.
Weblog of the Year: Dooce
I had A pick a number one through six. She picked three. That was Dooce. So there you go. And you know what? I actually just clicked through and read a bit, and she’s not half-bad.

Well, thanks for your vote! And yes, it´s about women. Actually, different types of women.
A “Bestiario” is an antique book with different beasts, real and fake, of course.
Bestiaria are short stories, descriptions and images about women we all know: the one that always has a problem, the divorced-lurker, etc.
my english is not that good. sorry! bye!
