I went to Filene’s Basement today to do a little shopping. I was rather surprised to see a Valentine’s display right inside the front door. It’s only a couple of days after Xmas! I know there’s no merchandising associated with New Year’s Eve or MLK Day, so Valentine’s is the next holiday they’ll be selling stuff for, but did they need to have a display up immediately after Xmas? Why can’t there be a generic display with some nice items that don’t have a holiday association?

It’s like seeing Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving has even come. Horrible and tasteless.
