I just installed the free edition of Movable Type 3.0 Developer’s Edition. It went great! Everything was really easy to upgrade. My only complaint so far is that the interface looks awful in Mozilla 1.6 - I’ve already sent a note to Kristine about this. So I’m using IE6 right now to type this entry, and it looks pretty nifty! I’m looking forward to working with Six Apart on doing installations for others, though I suspect that won’t happen until after the general version is released. If somebody’s skilled enough to be a developer for a piece of software, they can probably install the darn thing on their own! I still have to go through the new template tags and do a bunch of tweaking, of course.
Added: Whoops! Kristine responded that it should look fine in Mozilla, and that’s when I realized the interface was probably being influenced by Proxomitron. I bypassed Proxo and sure enough the interface looks just fine! How embarrassing.
Hmmm I’m using Mozilla 1.6 and haven’t had a problem with how it looks.

Hi, Meredith. You’ve helped me twice import LJ entries into MT, and I’m quite grateful. Glad to hear the upgrade went smoothly. (I’m posting a comment with my new TypeKey account!)

I’m glad it went well for you
For some reason, when I installed it I was having a ditzy day so I kept having problems with simple and self-explanatory things.
That’s what I love about MT, however, it’s so simple and easy to install.
Oh I thought I’d add, I had problem posting using my TypeKey information…it came up with the error that I haven’t included my name and e-mail. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ![]()
