I seem to be doing a lot of memes this week. Here’s the current Monday Mission:

1.What is the difference between spirituality and religion?
Four letters. Seriously, that’s about all it is to me. I have so little interest in spirituality and religion that I don’t care about a greater difference.

2. What is the difference between someone listening to what you say and hearing what you say?
Someone who is listening is receiving your message; someone who is hearing is absorbing it and can incorporate it into future events, discussions, and experiences.

3. What’s the difference between a Father, and a Daddy?
When I lived at my parents’ house, I had a display plaque that said “anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a daddy.” My biological father was just that - the sperm supplier. He abused my mother and didn’t care about me - my mother has said that he’d ignore me if I wanted to play while he was watching a football game. My mother’s next husband, though, actually took an interest in me, and would have been part of my upbringing had he not died of cancer.

4. What’s the difference between being married and living together?
Aside from the legal issues of the ability to get a marriage license, being married implies a greater commitment between a couple.

5. What’s the difference between growing up and growing old?
Growing up involves maturity, growing old involves aging. It’s entirely possible to have done one without doing the other.

6. What’s the difference between getting what you want and getting what you need?
About a million dollars.

7. What’s the difference between punishment and discipline?
Oooh, I could make this really kinky, couldn’t I? Punishment is the bad stuff that happens when someone has failed to meet expectations due to a lack of discipline (self-discipline or externally imposed).

8. What’s the difference between the Monday Mission and any other meme?
The MM has more questions that typically require deeper thought.
