don’t believe everything you’re told
Wow, I have answers for the Monday Mission this week!
1. Is there a movie you would like to see Hollywood make a sequel to?
One of my favorite movies of all time is the the 1993 HBO movie And the Band Played On, a star-studded film about the early years of the AIDS crisis. It would be nice to see an update, presented in the same humane way that movie was made.
2. What movie sequel do you think should never have been made?
Tremors II: Aftershocks. Tremors 3: Back to Perfection. Tremors 4, which isn’t even finished yet. And, worst of all: Tremors, the TV series. Do I need to go on?
3. Are there any books (comic, novel, etc.) that you would like to see made into a movie? Who should star in it?
Okay, this is one I don’t have an answer to.
4. When was the last time the you got a shot at the Doctor’s office? Do you prefer them in the arm or your backside? Or would you rather just take a prescription?
I get a Depo-Provera shot every three months, and I always have them in the arm. These days, I’d almost rather have a shot…I already have enough prescriptions to keep track of (and lose).
5. Do you make friends easier in “Real Life” or online or is it about the same? Do you have closer friendships in “Real Life” or online? Why do you think that is? Are you ok with that or would you like to make a change?
Interesting question. I definitely have a better time making friends - especially closer friendships - online, though I don’t know why. In person I’m just too nervous and worried about how I come across, but online I have the opportunity to edit myself before conveying anything. I guess I’m okay with it, although it’s too bad some of my closest friends live far away.
6. When you first got your drivers license how did you feel ? Did you get it on the first try, second, third, more than that ? Do you have a license ? If no, do you plan to get one ? Why or why not ?
I got my driver’s license on the first try, as I recall. I don’t really remember how I felt!
7. Have you ever had your tonsils removed? Did you ever come close? Tell me about that.
Nope. I’m pretty sure I never even came close. I don’t think they remove tonsils nearly as often as they used to.
BONUS: Who’s that girl?
…Running around with you. Eurythmics.
One Response for "Monday Mission"
Yes, you still have all of your body parts, including your tonsils (unless you’ve removed something lately and haven’t told me!). When I was a kid they did thought tonsils were vestigial and no longer had any function, so they removed them almost routinely, usually at age 4. But my mother was really ahead of her time with a lot of ideas and didn’t want me to have a tonsillectomy unless it was really necessary. I did have frequent bouts of tonsillitis, though, and it finally became clear that there would be no avoiding it. I was 7, three years older than all the other kids in the ward, but I was terrified of the surgery and of staying in the hospital overnight. It was painful for the first few days, but after that it was great to not have sore throats so frequently any more.
