A long time ago (more than a year), I started a list of Good Things™. These are just things I like, things that make me happy. I figured it’s worth having an entry in my journal for them, so I can add to the list later. (Yes, I do know there’s a book called 14,000 Things to Be Happy About. I’ve never read it; this is my own list.)

Good news - the temp company A is with provides benefits to domestic partners! We’ll have to sign a paper saying we’ve been together at least six months, which isn’t a problem given that we’re just shy of five years together. We’re only sure she’ll have this assignment for a few months, but that’s better than nothing.

As I was approaching the high school to get to work today, I noticed a police car at the side of the road. The officer was taking a report from a girl whose car had been totally crushed in the front. It seems she had the car in drive instead of in reverse, and launched forward from her parking space into a tree. Yikes.

The first baby born in Northern Virginia this year was born to a lesbian couple!

Simulation and tycoon games seem to be growing more and more popular. Here’s a weird one from a company called Wizard Works: Emergency! You are apparently in control of ambulances, police cruisers, fire engines, and the like.

I finally found a decent website for Just the Right Shoe. I wish there were a better website for CowParade, though.
