The last Weekly Wrapup of January. For the sake of clearer answers, I’m going to use “blog” even though I write a journal/blog.

1. Why do you blog?
To be honest, I’m not sure. I like the idea that there are people out there who read what I’ve written. I’ve always loved writing, and blogging gives me an audience. I also blog to keep my mother more up-to-date on my life, though nobody else from real life reads my journal (as far as I know).

2. What do you blog about? Why?
I write about my life a lot. It’s probably the easiest topic I could come up with! Sometimes I mention websites and programming and design. According to my standard description, I write about:

Personal journal and weblog. Frequent topics include deafness, site design, queer news, and issues local to the Washington DC area.

3. Who is your primary blogging audience? Why?
I think mostly local people read what I write, along with friends from MOO and so forth. I’ve also managed to find some friends through blogging. I found myself constantly looking to Kristine for programming support, and now she actually reads my site (I think!).

4. What is your blogging philosophy? Why?
Write what you know. Write what you want to. Write what you feel. And your writing will be good.
I kind of made that up on the spot, actually. I don’t think I have a blogging philosophy.

5. Have you ever stopped blogging or considered ending your blog? Why? What happened?
The frequency of my blogging dropped off dramatically in December 2001, but I’ve never intentionally stopped and I’ve never had cause to consider ending it.
