Keeping Up

Posted by on November 14, 2002

I’ve been able to read all of my e-mails, but so far I haven’t had a chance to really respond to anything. The longest I’ve sat in front of a computer for the past few days has been about 45 minutes; I had gotten my inbox down to about 14 messages and now it’s up to more than 50 again. So many things I need to read, so many things I need to write. I still have to send in my timesheet for last week, which I should have sent in Monday. Argh!

This morning’s staff meeting was only an hour, rather than the two hours they’d scheduled me for, so I had a free hour. I dropped off a prescription at CVS and made a salad at Giant, where I also picked up a 12-can pack of Diet Vanilla Coke (yay!). I went home to eat, but only got to stick around for about half an hour before I had to run out again. I stopped for gas – I think the full-tank mileage was okay, so I guess there’s nothing really wrong with the car – and came out to my high school again (I’m in the keyboarding class now). Incidentally, last night at Audism Monologues I met someone who recognized me from the high school. She’s a friend of R’s (they were in the graduate psychology program together at Gallaudet) and works as a traveling psychologist for the deaf and hard of hearing programs in the county where I work most often. She spends time at all of the schools I go to, and is at my high school on Tuesdays. I was amazed she recognized me.
