god + whacky tobacky = platypus
Wow! This rules. I just got a call from a guy who said I’d been selected for the Jeopardy! contestant search! A while back they advertised that you could now sign up online, and when I went to do so I noticed they were having a contestant search in the Baltimore/Washington area this March. So of course I signed up for it, and then promptly forgot all about it.
But then this guy just called me here at work, and offered me an exam appointment on Sunday, March 17th at 11am! He asked if that date was okay and I immediately said yes - I don’t plan that far in advance, but if I did I’d change my plans! It’ll be at the Omni Shoreham, which I have been to before to visit a friend who was in town - it’s a very ritzy hotel. I’m supposed to dress as I would on the show, and he said they’ll be sending me a letter which I should bring along as my ticket. It’ll take about an hour, no more than two, and I’m not supposed to bring any guests because there’s nowhere for them to wait. But I just can’t believe they picked me!

I AM 14 YEARS OLD, AND WOULD LIKE YO BE A CONTESTANT.
I’ve been watching jeopardy and kids have been on the show. I’m almost 11 years old and I want to be a contestant, but the promblem is my dad is in the air force and I live in Germany near Ramstein Air Base.
I love watching the show and I answer many questions at home,I would like to try and compete on TV.
Thanks

[...] More than four years ago, I tried out for Jeopardy. I didn’t pass the written test, so I was sent home. Then earlier this year, they held an online test and I did pass that, so I got called in for a second audition. It happened yesterday morning, and there was another written test - but they didn’t tell us if we passed! Instead we all got to play the mock game, at which I did okay. I think my “It’s Academic” experience taught me not to be afraid of the buzzer - any nervousness was just a matter of if I knew the answers at all, rather than if I could hit the buzzer in time. Anyway, I have no idea how I did at all. They say they will consider everyone based on their test score, their stage presence, their looks (I’m assuming that based on the Polaroid picture they took of everyone), etc. So for all I know, they just did away with the embarrassing “didn’t pass the test” part, and let everybody play the mock game, even if we don’t have a chance at getting on the show. But I am theoretically in their active contestant file for the next 18 months, so I suppose I could still get called at any time. [...]
